Artemis is now one of the most sought-after and considered as one of the Country's leading authorities in transformation, service improvements and delivery, Artemis is a seasoned Director of Planning and Regeneration with over 30 years' experience, passionate about best practice and promoting great place-making. Having pioneered the Clearance drives to tackle Local Authority backlogs, Artemis has overseen the clearance of over 5000 backlog applications in the last 4 years alone. More recently, in the last 3 years, having been influential the promotion of planning apprenticeships and working closely with universities and placing and introducing over 40 Planning Apprentices into planning departments, across the UK.
Artemis is currently employed in a dual-hatted role as Director of Planning and Regeneration, on behalf of Lichfield District Council and Lichfield West Midlands Traded Services (LATCO of the Local Authority). Artemis is revolutionizing how planning and local authorities function with semi-privatizing functions by creating income streams to re-enforce and support the self-efficiency of statutory function of the Local Authority and able to offer bespoke service delivery functions to other local authorities across the U.K. Her sought-after knowledge and experience have seen Artemis in demand to speak at national events on all planning and regeneration-related matters and is one of the government's foremost voices of influence in setting and navigating national planning policy.
Recently accredited as a chartered manager and appointed into the nationally renowned, Academy of Urbanism as an academician in April 2024, Artemis also sits on the Steering Group for the BAME Planners' Network, actively promoting equity, equality, and diversity in all aspects of Planning and sits on the Advisory Board for The School of Architecture and Cities at The University of Westminster, in London. Her skillsets and work ethics have been sought after over the last few years across London and the UK, and has blended Agency, Consultancy and Contract work. This has been primarily for Local Authorities, where many nationally recognized developers and housebuilders have sought out her expertise to invest in whichever area she is working with.
Further, as a consultant, she advises private clients and developers on housing and commercial projects. Artemis has overseen many nationally recognized strategic projects, including, countless nationally strategic housing and commercial development schemes, including, Wembley Stadium, Tottenham Football Stadium, new international headquarters for 'Nike' and South Ashford Garden Community, to name a few! Artemis has been commended by the Mayor of London for leading the delivery of key major regeneration schemes in London and has had international recognition as the youngest Chief Planner in the UK in 2008.
